What is Alzheimer's?
Alzheimer is a progressive brain dysfunction which leads to a gradually increasing
restriction of all activities.
Alzheimer not only affects patients, but also those surrounding them,
as most patients require long-term care through the 7 stages.
What are the most important factors of the indications of Alzheimer:
• Stage 1•Is defined as a normal adult with no decline in function or memory.
• Stage 2•Is defined as a normal older adult who has some personal awareness of functional decline.
• Stage 3•Is defined as early Alzheimer’s disease; anxiety.
• Stage 4•Mild Alzheimer’s Disease; usually there is no deficit in a person with Alzheimer’s disease
recognition of familiar faces-denial and a flattening of their mood.
• Stage 5•Moderate Alzheimer’s disease; cannot get by without assistance.
• Stage 6•Moderately severe Alzheimer’s disease; start to forget significant amounts of information about
themselves and their surroundings, personality and emotional changes become more apparent,
very apparent in some, and incontinence may also be a factor.
• Stage 7•Severe Alzheimer’s disease; speech ability becomes limited to just six or seven words and intelligible
vocabulary limited to a single word, lose the ability to walk, sit up, smile and eventually cannot hold up their head,
the brain now appears unable to tell the body what to do.
